It all started out as a far-fetched and crazy plan to spend the entire summer in Europe. [You could say that I have a severe case of wanderlust.] I applied to two programs–one with my school and the other outside of my school. It has been a bit of a challenge to plan these separate programs, especially since both were initially very scant on the deets. Amazingly, everything has fallen into place.
First, I’ll be heading to Graz, Austria, where I’ll be from mid-May to approximately the end of June. A quick google image search gives me this wonderful view:

!!!!!!!!
I’ll be there for six weeks studying language and culture.
Then I have a three week gap, in which I’m going to bum around Europe…or something like that.

Theeen for the last wee bit of the summer I’m going to Berlin to study art and language (WHAT A PERFECT COMBINATION), for three and half weeks. I was really happy to hear that I got into this program, because Berlin tends to be more popular. From what I’ve learned so far about the program I’ll get to create art and visit a lot of art museums, as well as continue to learn the German language [so it’s practically perfect in every way ]. It ends mid-August, and then I’ll fly home.

So yes, this is my super awesome summer plans that I am kind of geeking out about. My last summer was completely lame–not completely–but stocking milk cartons in a grocery store is only so exciting.
It took a lot of planning, help from professors, and many phone calls to my mom while I was working on the rather extensive applications (specifically for the Berlin program!) to make this all happen.

I’m so incredibly thankful for this opportunity this summer!
If you’ll be around Europe or in the area, let me know 🙂
