So much has happened in th past few days….
First I went dancing on Wednesday evening! That was an adventure in and of itself. The place I was going to shouldn’t have been too hard to find…except none of the streets were labeled! I walked around for about 45 minutes, and asked THREE people for directions, and they all didn’t know what I was talking about. 😛 I fortunately have a pretty good sense of direction, and found the place.
Anyways, I found the cafe and had a total blast, and practiced my German and made new friends! And Lindy hopped!! Really, it’s difficult to explain. It’s addicting. Really fun. Look into it.
I ended up staying til 11, and then ran off ot catch my bus. So far I’ve never had to show my bus pass, and usually just get on and find a seat. This time I was just tired and not paying attention when I got on the bus, and was looking for a seat. I thought I heard somebody say something, but wasn’t sure so just kept walking. Then, just as I was about to sit down, i heard a whistle and notice everyone in the bus was looking at me.
The bus driver was leavning out of his seat and pointing, and looking angrily at me. Whoops.I sheepishly walked back up to the front of the bus, fumbled in my bag for my bus card, showed it to him, and it was fine. But I was wondering if I should have known that I would have to show my card since I got on the front of the bus–but I have never seen this before. Then I had to walk past everyone back to my seat. I just wanted to say “don’t look at me, I”m just a silly American” Haha. It’s funny now, and really, since normally you don’t have to show your bus ticket when you get on a bus (I have a week pass), I think it was just the bus driver. OH WELL!
Anyways, today during the day there was someone on the bus checking everyone’s tickets, so fortunately I always have my bus card with me 🙂 Otherwise…big fine!
Otherwise, I have been exploring the city, trying new foods, and just really enjoying my time here. On Saturday we’re going to a chocolate factory (!!!) and on Sunday there is a city festival or something, which sounds like a lot of fun. I need to get better at taking photos….
bis bald,
