(stumbled across this poem I had written in a draft. i believe i wrote it originally in 2014.)
i sat in the airport for
five hours
i crossed my legs then
uncrossed them
i watched the display then
dozed off
i stood up then
sat down
i had my papers out then
back in
the plane didn’t come
so i waited
for an entire day
or was it a year?
so long
i grew roots into that seat
and lived three lifetimes in my books
then wearily, left my staked territory
to find fresh food and water.
One reply on “[universal?] airport experience”
Refreshing and original! It reminds me a bit of William Carlos Williams. 🙂
